:: Corrugations
You may have noticed that the candles have certain corrugations in its ceramic body. These corrugations are very important, as they serve to prevent leakage of high voltage insulation in the body of the candle.

If there were the corrugations, due to high voltage applied to the candle, would leak through your body, which will lead to malfunction of the engine.
